Love life in the Big Apple is a varied as the city's population and Jill Andresevic's Love, Etc. follows several diverse New Yorkers who've found true love or are looking for it, and interweaves their special stories.

A Bouquet of Love Relationships

The film is a lighthearted and entertaining compilation documentary. One aging couple are dedicated love birds who’ve been living together and writing songs together for decades, another is a young Indian couple who are trying to work out their premarital differences before they celebrate their elaborate traditional wedding ceremony and gala, and a third are a pair of high schoolers who are contemplating college choices as they experience their first boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Then there is a recently divorced dad with custody of his two teenage kids who’s looking for Ms. Right -- a divorced women with kids of her own -- to become part of his family, while a gay guy who hasn’t been able to find a lasting partner who is willing to raise kids connects with a surrogate mom who bears twins for him.

The nicely shot and edited film gives a good snapshot of the many and quite diverse love relationship variables that occur in the big city. It isn't overly sentimental, but neither does it delve into the difficulties or complexities that may hamper big city love relationships. It is, in fact, a good first date documentary.
