What a great way to introduce kids to documentary films and filmmaking!
The Maysles Institute is inviting youngsters 10-13 and their parents to an open house reception, where they will get a preview of what's being offered in the upcoming Junior Filmmaker Program, a 10-week participatory workshop course in which 10-13 year olds learn about documentary films and, mentored by professional filmmakers, make their own documentary short, which will be critiqued by none other than Albert Maysles.
The Junior Filmmaker Program sessions are on Saturdays, February 2 to April 13, 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m.
The open house is on Saturday January 26, from Noon to 1:00 pm. Watch excerpts of films made by previous Junior Filmmakers and hear about the exciting program.
RSVP required. Do it right away at firstname.lastname@example.org.
