The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has designated fifteen nonfiction features for further consideration for the 2013 Oscar for Best Feature Length Documentary. It's no surprise to me that their fifteen-film shortlist is missing some of my top ten favorites.
The five Oscar nonfiction nominees will be announced on January 10, 2013. Meanwhile, here's the shortlist, with my notes on each film.
