Searching For Sugar Man is a rare truth-is-stranger-than-fiction story that has win-win-win happy endings for all of its characters.
Filmmaker Malik Bendjelloul accompanies music fans who set out to find out what's become of Rodriguez, a Detroit songster whose two albums topped the music charts in South Africa but never took off in the United States.
The film is fabulously entertaining, the music is marvelous, and the story underscores the importance music plays in people's lives. This is a documentary that simply shouts out for celebration.
