IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam) celebrates its 25th anniversary edition from November 14-25, 2012, with an excellent program of more than 300 documentaries, many of them vying for awards in nine categories of competition.
The festival awards a total of € 46,500 (about $57,050) in prize money, with sums varying for each award category.
Special programs include a section focusing on historical documentaries that track the past quarter of a century, another section featuring Dutch documentaries and a day devoted to screening the Why Poverty? series.
