Filmmaker Ross McElwee's concerns about his troubled relationship with his teenage son prompt him to revisit his own coming of age experiences, so that he may better understand the angst and alienation expressed by young Adrian's behavior. McElwee's search takes him to France, where he had his first job as a photographer and fell in love for the first time.
The intimate autobiographical documentary is beautiful and affecting, as it connects past and present.
