Jeff Prosserman's Chasing Madoff, about how finance investigator Harry Makopolos blew the whistle on Bernard L. Madoff and his high stakes Ponzi scheme, plays like Margin Call or other entertaining narrative cloak and dagger thrillers with a high finance slant.
The documentary shows that Makopolos was on Madoff's case for years, but the reports he made to authorities fell on deaf ears.
Meanwhile, Madoff clearly took note of Makopolos, who began to fear for the safety of his family. Madoff had that much clout and little-to-no sense of honor and integrity.
The DVD of Prosserman's gripping film is available on DVD on April 6, with lots of intriguing extras, including commentaries, deleted scenes and outtakes.
