Undefeated Scores 2012 Oscar

In the 2012 Oscar race, Undefeated lived up to its title, becoming the first sports documentary to win a golden statuette in Academy Awards history.

Filmmakers Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin's documentary is about a last-in-league high school football team that plays its way into the championship playoffs for the first time in the school's history.

At the Oscars ceremony, the award for Best Documentary Feature was presented by actors Robert Downey, Jr. and Gwenyth Paltrow in a skit intended to spoof the nonfiction film process, but actually seemed to trivialize it -- especially since the winners' acceptance speeches were cut short by music. Ouch!
