Set in 1950s New Orleans, filmmaker Tom Wolfe's The Sons of Tennessee Williams is a fascinating documentary about the struggle for gay rights, as well as a very colorful and entertaining profile of the Crescent City's Mardi Gras, which is arguably one of America's biggest and most flamboyant annual parties.
First Run Features streets the film on DVD on February 14, as a perfect Valentine to Gay pride and to all of those staunch souls who've struggled to overcome bigotry and brazenly biased laws. Read my full review.
