New Oscars Rules For Documentaries

The list of nominees for the 2012 Oscars hasn't yet been announced, but word is already out that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will implement a new set of rules for nonfiction features to qualify for Best Documentary consideration in 2013, and a revised selection process designed to be more equitable for mainstream documentaries with genuine theatrical releases.
