John Hughes left the making of documentaries about teenagers to other filmmakers, but when it came to the creation of fiction features that document teenage angst and ambitions, Hughes' movies -- The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Pretty In Pink among them -- are unsurpassed.

Hughes, who died unexpectedy of a heart attack on August 6, 2009 at the age of 59, left some mysteries about his personal life -- most notably: why did Hughes simply vanish from Hollywood in 1991?

To answer these questions for himself and for the legions of Hughes fans, Canadian actor and filmmaker Matt Austin has been making a documentary, entitled Don't You Forget About Me, about the memorable John Hughes. No release date yet announced, but you can watch the trailer.
