a/k/a Tommy Chong: Top Stoner Documentary Hits Primetime November 14, 2008

Touted by many of those who would know as the best stoner documentary ever, a/k/a Tommy Chong is a funny and compelling telling of how the Chong half of the famously funny stoner comedy duo--a/k/a Cheech and Chong--found himself in the slammer for his secondary career. No, he wasn't trafficking in illegal substances. He was merely selling 'bongs'--those colorful water pipes oft used for smoking marijuana.

The Chong arrest became a celebrated cause. Chong and the film have been championed by groups seeking to legalize marijuana for medicinal reasons, among others. a/k/a Tommy Chong debuts tonight on Showtime in a primetime slot.
