Docs on Demand at UK-based Joiningthedots.tv Debuts April 15, 2008

UK-based Mercury Media launches Joiningthedots.tv, its broadband VOD documentaries site, on April 15. Ten documentaries will be offered each month.

In May, the company will begin screening films licensed to the site in theaters across the UK in partnership with Picturehouse Cinemas, the Uk’s leading independent Cinema network.

Theatrical releases will occur every six weeks. The first title to be screened is ‘The Unwinking Gaze,’ the documentary that follows the Dalai Lama during an 18 month period of attempted negotiations with China to resolve issues concerning Tibet. The film opened this year’s London International Documentary Festival (March 29, 2008).

Films slated for theatrical release will screen in cinemas before going into the online, TV and DVD markets.
