It's Official: 2008 Documentary Film Oscar Nominees

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the five feature documentaries that will appear on the 2008 Oscars ballot. They are: No End in Sight directed by Charles Ferguson, Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience directed by Richard Robbins, Sicko directed by Michael Moore, Taxi to the Dark Side directed by Alex Gibney and War/Dance directed by Andrea Nix and Sean Fine.

For Best Documentary, Short Subjects, the nominees are: Freeheld directed by Cynthia Wade and Vanessa Roth, La Corona directed by Amanda Micheli and Isabel Vega, Salim Baba directed by Tim Sternberg and Francisco Bello and Sari's Mother directed by James Longley.

FYI, No End in Sight, Sicko and Taxi to the Dark Side also appear on my Top Ten of 2007 list.
