King Of Kong Hits Queens, NY

Wednesday August 8, 2007
The heated rivalry between hot-sauce mogul cum arcade game champ Billy Mitchell and suburban dad and science teacher Steve Wiebe to set and hold the world record for Donkey Kong is the subject of Seth Gordon’s King of Kong: A Fist of Dollars, a surprisingly entertaining glimpse into the wildly arcane subculture of video arcade gaming.

King of Kong has its New York premier at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens on August 12, with current Donkey Kong King Steve Wiebe holding court and demonstrating his skills. The film opens in theaters on August 17. For players and watchers alike, King of Kong is much more than just a joy stick. You can view the trailer or order the DVD.
